Prairie Path Designs
About
Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. John Zurales, became interested in laser engraving and laser cutting after attending a weekend class in Indianapolis.
During that weekend, he made several items including a name badge, Polar Camel Tumbler, Beer Glass, and a sign made out of wood. After that weekend, he was hooked.
The Laser
John acquired a Thunder Nova 100 watt Co2 Laser and began his journey of exploration. He quickly learned that the phrase "Measure Twice, Cut Once" applied to work on the laser, just as it does to woodworking.
This is is the laser, on the day of arrival. Stanley, the Shop Supervisor, is pictured as he finished inspecting the new gadget. It was a lot bigger than expected.
Everyone gets in on the act.
When John's kids come home, they are always interested in making something new on the laser.
The kids always come up with new projects, which put John's laser skills to the test.
John's daughter designed the coffee cup she is holding. This was our first attempt at a handled mug which presented new challenges to overcome.
